Ana Celia de Armas Caso (born April 30, 1988 in La Habana, Cuba) is a Cuban actress. She currently lives in the USA. Ana de Armas was raised in La Havana, Cuba.

Ana de Armas attended the National Theater School of Cuba. Her first film success was “Una rosa de Francia”, starring with Alex Gonzalez, at the age of 16. She later appeared in other films such as “Madrigal” by Cuban Director Fernando Pérez as well as soap operas such as “El Edén perdido”.

Her first major television success was the Spanish TV series “El Internado”, which aired on Antena 3 in 2007, in which she played Carolina Leal. The show also featured actors Yon Gonzalez (Ivan), Martiño Rivas (Marcos) and Elena Furiase (Victoria). She later continued her career in the film “Mentiras y gordas” (2009). Ana will return to a new Antena 3 television series: Hispania. A series set in the Second Century BC. Her role will be that of Nerea. In April 2008, she appeared on the cover of the Spanish edition of FHM magazine.

In 2014 de Armas moved to Los Angeles, Los Angeles County, California. She appeared in the film “Por un puñado de besos”. In 2015, she starred in Knock Knock, alongside Keanu Reeves, whom she also co-starred with in the 2016 film Exposed. She credits Hands of Stone director Jonathan Jakubowicz as having “discovered her” since he gave her the first international role in his Robert De Niro boxing epic which premiered in Cannes 2016. Staying busy through 2016, in addition to Hands of Stone she had a prominent role in Todd Phillips’ War Dogs, playing the moral wife of Miles Teller’s character who sells weapons to the American government.

In 2017 she appeared in Overdrive, a French action-thriller film, in which she played Scott Eastwood’s girlfriend who becomes involved in his plot to steal cars from a ruthless tycoon. While the film received scathing reviews, De Armas’ performance received praise from critics.

The same year she appeared in Blade Runner 2049 by Denis Villeneuve, playing opposite Ryan Gosling in the role of Joi, a holographic computer program which is the main character’s girlfriend. Her performance in the film received high praise and has been characterized as a breakout role.

On 23 May 2018, it was announced that Armas would star in the upcoming crime drama film The Night Clerk, with Academy Award-winner Helen Hunt and John Leguizamo.

In 2019, she is set to star in the mystery crime film Knives Out, with Daniel Craig and Lakeith Stanfield; the British action crime film The Informer, with Joel Kinnaman and Rosamund Pike; and an untitled Danny Boyle/Richard Curtis musical comedy film, with Himesh Patel, Lily James, and Kate McKinnon.
